Keg Float

This new piece of kit was something I made myself for a few pounds. It was inspired Clear Beer Draught System. But rather than pay $41 + $35 shipping. I made mine from these items from Amazon for less than £10.

I did have a couple of issues though. Firstly the the centre of the float is just above the level  of the beer. Meaning that I had to cut a hole in the tube below the float. This seemed to work when I tested it with water, which flowed quite readily.

However the second problem became apparent when I used it for real. That was that the open end of the tube meant that CO2 and beer was pushed through, creating a huge amount of foam. Ah well, I’ll make sure the end is blocked up next time.
